Meet Our Teachers

Teacher Linda has an Early Childhood Education Diploma from Mount Royal University, graduating with honours, and began teaching at Indus Preschool in September 1995. Linda has ten years of experience as a practicum supervisor with adults in the E.A.C.E. programs at MRU. She also has extensive experience integrating special needs children into preschool programs and has worked closely with G.R.I.T. (Getting Ready for Inclusion Today) Calgary Society. She currently works closely with Kin-Direct on special needs integration. Linda has obtained certificates in the award-winning program “Handwriting Without Tears.” In Spring 2015, Linda was certified in the “Pre-K Readiness & Writing Workshop.” A readiness curriculum is full of developmentally appropriate activities that teach children about letters, body awareness, numbers, sequencing, & sharing in a fun, engaging, and informal manner. Linda has also been certified in the “Pre-K Literacy & Math Workshop”, which uses lively music & playful activities to teach number concepts, geometry, sequencing, phonological awareness, vocabulary, & concepts about print. Linda’s background includes presenting the early literacy program through Rocky View Continuing Ed Programs. Linda is certified in Standard Child Care First Aid CPR/AED Level B with the Canadian Red Cross, has completed many early childhood workshops and is a caring and experienced mother and grandmother.

Teacher Stacy joined us here at Indus Preschool in September 2023. She received her Early Childhood Education Diploma from Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough, Ontario, and has thirteen years of experience working with children from infants to eighteen. Preschool age is her favourite! Teacher Stacy also took courses in the Social Services Program while at Sir Sandford Fleming College and completed the Food Service Worker Certification at that college. While most of her career has been spent as an Early Childhood Educator, she has also worked as an Educational Assistant for the Calgary Catholic School District. Teacher Stacy is certified in Standard First Aid and CPR/AED level C with the Canadian Red Cross and has completed a variety of Early Childhood workshops. Outside of work, Teacher Stacy enjoys volunteering in her community. She has volunteered at an elementary school, for a minor hockey association, at the Chestermere Winter Carnival, Cuddles for Cancer, and the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation. Her hobbies include photography, gardening, reading, walking her dogs, watching hockey, and spending time with family and friends. She is passionate about working with children and their families and looks forward to meeting you all!
